The Veterans’ Administration says I am disabled. So why is Social Security denying my disability claim?

The Veterans’ Administration is a separate agency from the Social Security Administration. They may have separate rules and regulations as to how to qualify for those benefits. The Social Security Administration is not bound by their decision making, however Social Security is required to give VA determinations great weight in their decision making. But, at the end of the day, they are allowed to make their own independent decision as to whether you meet the requirements under Social Security’s guidelines.
