Long-term disability insurance<\/a> coverage may be offered for virtually any occupation\u2014from unskilled labor workers to highly skilled professional occupations such as doctors and lawyers. The occupations that may qualify for long-term disability are virtually limitless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The specific occupation of an LTD claimant is primarily an issue during the “own occupation”<\/a> (“own occ” for short) period of a long-term disability insurance policy.
