About Ortiz Law Firm

Our law firm’s mission is to provide the highest level of legal representation possible to disability and personal injury claimants through our diligence, perseverance, accessibility, experience, skilled advocacy, and superior knowledge. Our goals are (1) to develop meaningful and productive relationships with our clients based on integrity, mutual respect, and concern for their individual needs and circumstances, and (2) to achieve the best possible outcome in each client’s individual and unique case.

At The Ortiz Law Firm, we maintain the philosophy that each client’s case is the most important case, and that each client is entitled to our very best work.

Why Ortiz Law Firm?

Before entrusting Mr. Ortiz with their case, many of our clients first asked themselves the paramount question, “Why The Ortiz Law Firm?” The answer is simple: After more than a decade of representing clients in Long Term Disability, ERISA, Social Security Disability, and general negligence personal injury claims, Mr. Ortiz continues to set a standard of excellence for disability advocacy nationwide.

No Recovery, No Fee!

We work on a contingency fee basis in almost every claim we handle, which means you do not have to pay us a penny in attorney’s fees unless and until we recover benefits for you under your claim!

Attorney Nick A. Ortiz is the founder of the Ortiz Law Firm and has a decade of experience in representing disability claims to obtain disability benefits. Our law firm focuses exclusively on Long Term Disability, ERISA, Social Security Disability, and general negligence personal injury claims.

Attorney Nick A. Ortiz has extensive experience in handling disability and in-depth legal knowledge of state law and ERISA regulations. Mr. Ortiz offers zealous representation and will work to vigorously pursue your benefits.

Ortiz Law Firm Handles Long Term Disability Insurance Claims Nationwide

Nick Ortiz can represent individuals pretty much anywhere in the United States, in fact, the world. He is able to represent claimants anywhere in the United States because:

  • He is admitted to every bar in the state of Florida; and
  • Most long term disability cases, not all but most, are governed by a federal regulation called ERISA. Under ERISA, you do not have the right to a jury trial, and in most cases, you do not have the right to engage in extensive discovery.

What that means is at the end of the day, most of the work is paper-driven, a lot of brief writing, a lot of correspondence by mail. There are very few court appearances required, and as a result, Nick Ortiz and the Ortiz Law Firm can handle a federal court case pretty much anywhere.

In terms of communicating with you, we use an electronic signature service for a lot of the correspondence, and then we e-mail and fax and communicate by phone.

For those of you in California, I also have a bar license in the state of California, so I can represent claimants at any bar in the state of California.

For those of you in Texas, I also have a bar license in the state of Texas, so I can represent claimants at any bar in the state of Texas.

For those of you who are outside of Florida and California, I also handle those cases as well. In fact, in the past two years, I’ve represented individuals from Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and even claimants around the world (prior clients have lived in Morocco and the Philippines, for example).

We review each case on a case-by-case basis. Nick Ortiz can either be admitted to your local federal court by what we would call a pro hac vice admission, or he can file a lawsuit here in the state of Florida. The long and short of it is you should not allow our geographic location to limit your contacting us to see what we can do to help you.

We Get LTD Insurance Claims Paid

If your LTD claim has been denied or terminated, Mr. Ortiz is willing to review your documents and discuss your claim at no charge.

Note: this opportunity does not apply if you are already represented by an attorney and does not apply to initial applications for benefits. It only applies if you have received a denial letter from the insurance company.

Once hired as your attorney, Mr. Ortiz will work hard to recover the insurance benefits you are entitled to receive. Mr. Ortiz holds himself to a very high standard of legal representation. Mr. Ortiz understands the serious, sensitive, and complex nature of your disability insurance claim and is prepared to go to work for a favorable outcome. Clients also continue to retain the Ortiz Law Firm in disability claims for the following reasons:

  • We work on a contingency fee basis.
  • We have successfully handled thousands of disability cases.
  • We were honored with a 10/10 “Superb” rating by Avvo in 2014 and 2015.
  • We offer each prospective client a free, no-obligation case evaluation.
  • We have been handling disability claims for over 10 years.
  • We have testimonials from clients who have been extremely happy with the results we achieved for them.

In Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD), Short Term Disability (STD), and ERISA cases, the fee is typically 33 1/3%.

We understand that you have many questions and concerns about your future after your claim has been unfairly denied or terminated. To help you obtain the peace of mind you deserve, Mr. Ortiz will endeavor to address each of your concerns and answer each of your questions throughout the duration of your claim. In addition, we will help you understand the state and/or federal laws that apply to your case so you can confidently make each decision an informed one.

Many LTD claims are time-sensitive. If you fail to act within the time permitted by law or within the time limits set out in your benefits plan or your insurance policy, you may lose all of your rights. In most instances, you must appeal a denial within 180 days. Thus, you should not wait to take action or you may lose all of your legal rights forever.

Do not fight the massive (and well-funded) insurance company or navigate through the legal complexities that lie ahead without professional legal representation! The Ortiz Law Firm knows how to get your insurance claim paid. If you are disabled and unable to work due to a disability, we may be able to help.

We Handle Social Security Disability Claims Nationwide

Applying for Social Security disability benefits with or without an attorney advocating on your behalf can be a difficult and lengthy process. It puts an extreme strain on an applicant and the applicant’s family. Making things only worse is the high chance of being denied. Statistically, approximately 70% of all SSDI and SSI claims are denied at the initial application stage.

In light of these hurdles, what are SSD and SSI applicants to do? The answer is to learn everything you can about the disability claims process, including how claims are evaluated and the elements of a successful claim. By educating yourself about the approval process, you will better your chances of winning the initial application or on appeal, with or without the help of an experienced disability attorney or lawyer.

You can further improve your chances of winning your Social Security claim by hiring a Social Security Disability lawyer to represent you. In fact, there is some evidence to support the idea that those who are represented by an attorney have a better chance of being approved for benefits. We assist claimants with the initial application for benefits, requests for reconsideration, and requests for hearings before the Administrative Law judge. Even if you do not live in the Pensacola area

In Social Security cases, the “contingency fee” is typically 25% of the back pay owed to the claimant, and the fee is capped at $6,000.00 by the Social Security Administration. Our “No Fee Guarantee” assures you that you will not have a fee with our office unless and until you receive your Social Security Disability benefits. You can seek assistance with your claim at no risk to you!
