My review is a little late due to illness. Nick Ortiz is the most honest, compassionate person I have ever dealt with along with Tory Nelson his senior paralegal. From start to finish I was treated like I really mattered. A refreshing difference from the way I was treated by my long-term disability company. Within a couple of months my benefits were reinstated!! Within six weeks after that a settlement was negotiated by Mr. Ortiz for a lot more than I expected. My disability company is now permanently out of my life!!!! Thanks to Nick Ortiz, Tory Nelson, and staff, I sleep much easier. Nick Ortiz, Tory Nelson, and the staff are all my heroes.

After becoming unable to work due to significant medical issues, I felt that I needed to attempt to gain SSDI benefits. The process seemed rigorous and laden with pitfalls, so I chose to enlist the help of an experienced attorney to guide me through the process. After an exhaustive web search, I found the Ortiz Law Firm. The sheer amount of helpful information this firm provides on their web page was key to contacting them. Mr. Ortiz has spent a great deal of effort in organizing a comprehensive list of topics, as well as providing a “Academy” to assist his clients. Even though I live in Oregon and Ortiz Law is based in Florida, they gladly took on my case.

I chose to have Ortiz Law submit the initial application on my behalf to the Social Security Administration in the interests of not making a mistake that would delay or prevent a positive outcome. They readily did this, and then continually followed up with me with questionnaires, status updates, and advice as needed.

I would like to recognize “Tory”, a Senior Paralegal, who was assigned my case. Tory’s professional attitude and genuine interest in my case was apparent throughout our interaction, and she is an exemplary resource for Ortiz clients. Her caring demeanor is evident in everything she does.

Recently, my claim was approved by the Social Security Administration and I will start receiving monthly benefits shortly. Yes, the attorney fee comes out of the retro back pay allowed by SSA rules. Could I have done this all myself and avoided the attorney fee? Possibly. But I felt that hiring an experienced law firm to help avoid those potential pitfalls was well worth that cost. After all, they have the experience and possible clout with the SSA that most of us do not.

I worked with this law firm for my disability case after getting denied twice. As soon as I first called and met with their team, they started working on my case right away and were so detailed and helpful. There were some times that my disabilities made it difficult or stressful to complete certain steps in the case. Ortiz Law Firm gave me hope again. I applied for SSDI/SSI and was denied. I also was getting short term disability with an insurance company thru my work, but I was dropped by the insurance company on the same day that I was denied SSDI.
