Century, Florida – A female driver has been injured in a single-vehicle accident in a construction zone on Highway 97. The accident occurred at around 2:25 p.m. on Monday, in an area where traffic has been diverted onto a temporary bridge. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle collided with a crash cushion, which stopped the car before it reached a concrete barrier. Escambia County EMS arrived on the scene and transported the driver to an area hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
