Marianna, FL – A 12-year-old boy was pronounced dead yesterday from injuries sustained in an ATV crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the boy and his 17-year-old passenger were traveling east on Ontario Road when the boy failed to stop the Polaris Ranger ATV at a stop sign at the intersection of Ontario Road and Martin Road. A car driven by an 18-year-old man, also of Marianna, was traveling through the intersection and made contact with the right side of the ATV, causing the ATV to overturn and catch fire. The 17-year-old ATV passenger was killed instantly upon impact, and a 15-year-old passenger of the car was treated at Jackson Hospital for minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
