NAMI Pensacola Speaking Engagement

I just want to give a big thanks to NAMI Pensacola, our local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, for allowing me to speak to your group last night.

I spoke about the basics of Social Security Disability Benefits and how mental illnesses may qualify for SSDI and/or SSI benefits.

The group asked lots of great questions. I hope my answers provided better insight into the Social Security disability program of benefits.

You may also be interested in NAMI’s Basics Education Program, which provides fundamentals of caring for you, your family and your child with mental illness. It is the new signature education program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses. The Basics course is taught by trained teachers who are the parent or other caregivers of individuals who developed the symptoms of mental illness prior to the age of 13 years.
